I was recently looking into keywords at the request of my web designer. There are numerous keywords for money. Lots for money saving tips, retirement planning and financial advisor. And, way down at the bottom of the list, was “prayer for money.”

 Once, I was sitting in a square in Istanbul. It was a beautiful day and I was enjoying watching the birds swoop down and eat the watermelon I had just bought from a street vendor that was now splattered on the ground because the little cardboard dish had collapsed. A young man with curly black hair started talking to me about how he would like to be able to have a business that made a lot of money because he wanted to help his family. When he was finished dreaming, he took a breath and said, “I shouldn't want money. It's bad.” 

So many people, from many different religions have been taught that money is bad or evil in some way. Is money really bad? Or is it just a reflection of our disconnection from our Divinity as a human race?

What would happen if money was seen as a bringer of service and light? What would happen if instead of praying for money, we offered our prayers for money to be healed? What would happen if instead of holding the image of money as dirty, we bathed money in healing light and allowed it to be of service to expansion and more possibilities for the human race?
